We honor our volunteers with awards and promotions. It is serious work we do as a team but we find time to enjoy each others company. Promotions from one grade to another for cadets and seniors alike is our way of saying thank you for the hard work each puts into their position. Certificates from the squadron level, Wing level, Region and National levels are achievements to be proud of.

Truly one of the most inspirational things Reno Composite Squadron is associated with is Honor Flight. We help when the veterans return from their trip to Reno Tahoe International Airport. Our cadets provide crowd control lining the path through the terminal and they also help lead the procession with a color guard. The seniors help bring the bags downstairs so the veterans can enjoy their ceremony.
The airport and the Children’s Cabinet along with several businesses and airport personnel put on Operation Santa Claus each year. The General Aviation pilots lead a plane parade followed up by Santa himself in a Nevada Air National Guard C130 for families that are not in the best position to enjoy the holidays. Civil Air Patrol RCS is proud to help set up, provide security, and some aerospace education.
SAREX (Search and Rescue Exercise) is how we train for our emergency services missions. There are many positions working with each other to make a sucessful and safe mission. Radio operators, Mission Pilots, Base Staff, Safety Officers, Observers and Scanners in the air crew all need to coordinate their skills to accomplish the task at hand.
Operation Santa Claus is a effort by the General Aviation community, the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority, the Children's Cabinet of Northern Nevada, and several other groups that donate their time and money to make a Christmas for families that might not have one with out some help. Civil Air Patrol is proud to be one of these great organizations that pull together for the community.
The Seniors work the Reno Air Races selling breakfast and lunch for our annual fundraiser while the Cadets work the event as part of the emergency services contingent. Over 200,000 people attend the 5 day event and Civil Air Patrol is front and center in the community.
Every Thursday Night the Reno Composite Squadron holds training, specifically in communications. We're planning on other training events on this night as well in the near future.
